Nathan Pretty

I’m Nathan, a security engineer specializing in secure systems architecture and segmented network design. Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, I’m currently living in Alberta, Canada with a background working in National Defence environments.

My work focuses on building hardened infrastructure across RHEL-based systems and layered networks, integrating technologies such as Vault, Cisco platforms, VMware, and Active Directory. I treat compliance as a baseline, but prioritize real-world resilience—designing systems that remain secure as threats evolve and human factors come into play.

Outside of work, I travel regularly across North America and abroad for social and fine dining experiences, occasionally I explore nightlife scenes abroad. I also train consistently in marksmanship, focusing on control, awareness, and discipline.
